A New Haircut! And WAHOOOO! Myspace Karaoke Is A BLAST!!

Well, before I hit the hay soon, I wanted to post some piccies of my new haircut I got today. I don't know how much was cut off, but it was a LOT!! Seeing as how my hair originally was halfway down my back and now it is shoulder-lengths, LOL!

Also, I did some Myspace Karaoke recordings. I recorded Angel by Sarah McLachlan (dedicated to Rosie), Crazy by Patsy Cline, and Over the Rainbow by Martina Mcbride (am very proud of it, but planning to re-record it). It is so fun. I put a Cathedral effect on it and it gives it a studio-like sound. It makes me want to get my CD done so bad!! I so can't wait.

It's Amazing...

...how immature...no....ignorant...no, wait...it'll come to me...*taps chin* How about narrow-minded, malicious, and just plain INSOLENT. It is amazing how people can be all these terms, on You-friggin'-tube. Okay, I've made it known that I put videos and soundfiles of my singing on Youtube for opinions, critiquing and just for fun...period. If anyone would even bother to read my channel's profile area, they would see that I in no way proclaim to be a professional singer. However, these clowns will every now and then come on my videos and leave stupid, (and I can only presume that they think, scorching) remarks like, "You're not cut out for singing", "Don't quit your day job", and finally today the wittiest of them all...*Insert MAJOR eye roll here* "YOU SUCK".

Wow.

I'm truly at a loss for words. People STILL say that??

I mean, come on. "YOU SUCK"...wasn't that first said on like some dumb 80s movie (or a variation like, "THIS sucks" that advanced to "YOU SUCK"), like Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, and then it blew into some big hit slang? Well, I'm pretty sure the 80s is over people. I mean it's not even hip to chant "YOU SUCK" in time to Kurt Angle's theme anymore. (A wrestling reference that some of you may or may not get.)

*Shakes head* I just don't get it I'm afraid. Oh, well... I have my settings set to where I approve comments before they're posted anyway. *blows raspberry*

I mean, don't get me wrong...I can't lie and say it doesn't bug me a bit. But it's not what they say about my singing that bugs me (b/c I'll say right now, I don't suck), it's the mere fact that they are just trying to be hurtful. I know I can sing, I've had way too many people willing to bet that I'll make it big one day. As a sidenote, sadly it takes more than just having a good voice. There's other factors. Anyhoo, no, it's not that they get me to doubting myself, b/c I've only had like 3 people say mean things. It is just the idea that someone gets glee from being mean-spirited. Grow up. Go get a counselor, cry because your mommy never loved you, whatever. Don't go insult someone just because you're having a bad life. Frankly, so am I...but you don't see me going on youtube and being deliberately mean to someone. Especially when they ARE talented. I mean really, if you go on Youtube and don't like what you hear...do you really continue listening and go to the trouble of telling someone (rudely mind you) how bad you sound? No... most people would probably vacate the video's link and in a hurry. Or am I the only nice and respectful person left on the internet? *Cocks Eyebrow* If someone truly doesn't sing good, let them post their vids in peace anyway. Does it hurt to let them have a little internet fame? People should give them props in actuality, for having the nerve to post vids of them singing even when they really can't.

Okay...Trying Something New....

I am now reading Dr. Phil's book, Self Matters. I am reading it on the chance that it will actually work, and help me sort out my life, my dreams, my wishes & pursuits. 'Cause God knows nothing else is helping. I read the beginning and he told the story of a young medical doctor who swore to himself that he would not sell out and do his line of work strictly for the money instead of for helping people. He wanted to be a doctor for the right reasons. He wanted to WANT to be a doctor. He wanted to feel fire & passion for it. Well, ten years later, he discovered that he sold out after all. For ten years he hated his life, what he was doing, where he lived. For ten years. And it hit me...This story was like me. I've not worked in about 2 1/2 years, I had to drop out of college due to health reasons, I stay at home day after day. Those days turn to weeks, weeks to years, and so on and so forth. I hate my life. I hate that my health has put me in a place that I never dreamed I would be. And I don't mean that in a good way either. I hate that I let people walk all over me. I let people talk down to me and cut me off, act like my opinions don't matter. I'm sick of it. I let them treat me that way for fear of a knock-down & drag out. I'm a grown friggin' woman! And I am treated like a child. Like I have no sense. I may not have ever lived on my own, but that doesn't make me dumb. It doesn't mean that I'm immature. I just have a few problems that many other people don't have. Problems I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. It's my own personal hell. It's eating away at me. It's taken away my zest for life. I used to be such a go-getter.

Not anymore.

I sit at home, clean house, take care of my dog & cat, and sit at the computer (assuming I haven't worn myself out and go take a nap), writing fan-fics. Fan-fiction...sadly, it's become the only thing that makes me happy. You know why? Because I can leave my life behind. I can leave everything that is plaguing me behind. I can become anyone. I can become the beautiful, flawless and graceful heroines I write into my stories. And it feels good. I can be innocent and breathtaking, or I can be devilishly sexy. Ya know what's funny? I will say this, since it's my blog. I'm not conceited (believe me, I'm not), but I was confident at one time. Back when I was in my late teens and early twenties...I WAS sexy. I was pretty and I got attention from guys, I went on dates, etc. I was happy and I didn't even know it. I wish I knew then what I know now. Life has a way of creeping up on you and attacking. Before you know it, five years has passed and you wonder how in the hell (yes I cursed, I realize that...sorry) your life turned out the way it has.

Anyway, the doctor in Dr. PHil's story? Yeah, it was Dr. Phil himself. He finally quit being an M.D. and became a PH.D. He's doing what he loves. that's what his book is about. Finding your authentic self, and learning to live life the way you wanted to.

Here's hoping the book works, because right now, I'm merely existing.

Tornado Blog

This is what I saw only about three days after I wrote my "Tornados Are Scary!" Blog. It was weird! Like I'd had a premonition or something, LOL! Anyway, this was my footage of it! I had tried to upload the footage at Youtube, and it wouldn't work...so I tried reformatting the file and then Youtube finally decided to upload it. But in order to post it here, I had to reupload it through blogger. It's not like Myspace where you can just post html in and it posts the vid. LOL. Anyhoo, it's not but about a couple minutes, but it was pretty danged awesome! LOL! You can actually see some tornado tails trying to form. CREEPY! LOL! And, if you listen carefully toward the end you can hear me mutter, "NOT GOOD", LOL! Enjoy! =P

I think I Am Going To....

Write a little bit!

I hope so anyway, lol. I don't remember the last time I actually got a chapter written of my stories. Okay, actually I do...It was like a month or so back. Seems like a lot longer though. I think I shall now go eat supper, and then work on a chapter of Valet For a Dead Man. Chapter 20 to be exact. I'm SO happy with how this story has come out! Tornados Are Scary!

Okay, that's a total "Duh!" statement, but nonetheless, after the interesting dream I had last night, it bared saying (or typing). Especially when you live in Tornado Alley. Heck there is even places in the country that normally don't have tornados, that are indeed having them!

I had a dream last night/early this morning, that Mom was at work and I was here at the house by myself. Nothing scary yet...this is an everyday occurance. But then, Mom calls and sounds freaked out telling me that there is a HUGE tornado on the ground headed for our town. Okay, nevermind that the town's very noisy and annoying, but very necessary tornado alarm had not gone off... I go look out the window, and there is indeed a HUGE and GINORMOUS...okay scratch that...This tornado made the F5 tornado in Twister look like an F1...Anyway, I could see it heading strait for our house. So Mom is like trying to keep me calm and she says to go get in her closet (which is NOT in the center of the house mind you...but then again, it's hard to get into the CENTER of the house, due to our house being TINY). So anyhoo, I do go get in her closet after chucking several items out so I am able to fit into the tiny closet. I literally FELT rumbling all around me. Under my feet, through the walls, everywhere. Then I start feeling a strong breeze blowing at my hair, and it kept getting wilder. I started gripping the doorframe to try and give myself some stability...and then... I woke up. And it was THUNDERING. Yeah, THAT made me feel SO much better. I was afraid that I was having a premonition or something. But then I realized that it was Saturday, and Mom was off for the weekend. So if I go, she goes! Muahahahaha! TOTALLY just kidding. I'd rather mom be safe somewhere else rather than this shakledy old house. I'm convinced that a mere F2 tornado would wipe out this house's complete existence! Not to mention anyone who inhabits it!

Anyway, that's my excitement for the day. =P

I Think I Officially HATE Summer...

I've not been crazy about summer time since I was a kid. But "not being crazy" about it, has transformed into sheer loathing.

I can remember when I was little how fun it was to get out in the hottest part of the day (usually after lunch) and stay out running, playing, and shooting hoops with my brother till it was dusk and getting time for supper. Now, I think, what was I THINKING?? LOL. I used to wonder why older folks never seemed to like to get out and do anything....now I know. It seems like as you get older, the more going out to play does not seem so good, or smart for that matter, lol. Sometimes I miss feeling like a kid and enjoying the heat, and other times there's nothing I want to do more than to turn on a movie for racket, and curl up on the sofa with a good book right in front of the air conditioner (right in the line of fire, lol) and lose myself in a beautiful, fictional world of fantasy, action, and above all...romance. *sigh* I'm a cornball I know. No need to tell me. =P

Now, all that being said...I must get back to Sense & Sensiblity. =D

What Is With "Karma"??

Okay, I no more believe in "karma" then I belive in Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny. I further more, (no offense intended here) do not understand anyone who DOES believe in "karma". "Karma" is simply put, fate. FATE is, simply put, God's will. To me, in my opinion, that is like saying that there are TWO Gods. If "karma" exists, why do we need God then? Or is "karma" God's assistant? =P It's ludicrous really. "Karma" is just a dumb fad if you ask me. I'm so tired of hearing, "Karma's a witch (okay, it's the b-word but I'm not typing it)", and "He/She's got bad karma..." Blah blah blah! One of these days, and for many it will be too late, everyone...every SINGLE person will realize that "karma" is just a bunch of RUBBISH. As the Lord Himself said in Romans 14:11 "For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God." NOT "karma".

I realize this is kinda out of nowhere, lol, but I felt the need to rant. And...well...it's MY blog and I'll write what I want. =P *Blows Raspberry*

I'm sick....

Well, not technically, it's more like allergies going really badly. But let me tell ya...I've had colds that weren't as rough as this. I literally had to hold tissue to my nose for hours last night, because it was dripping like a faucet! I had to take both my anti-depressant AND a Benedryl. I slept THROUGH my alarm all the way to 11 A.M.!! LOL! So needless to say, I've been pretty zombified today. =P

Well...gonna go eat supper. I'm starving. Oh, and I absolutely LOVE on Myspace where you post the book you're reading, or the CD you're listening to, but Blogger doesn't seem to have that...unless I'm over-looking it. I'm pretty new here, lol. ANyhoo, I will simply post a line below saying what I'm watching/reading/playing. And I suggest you do the same because whatever I watch/read/play is just awesome! Hee hee! =P

I'm in the process of reading Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen. A true classic. =] I also LOVE the movie with Kate Winslet and Hugh Grant.
